'Tis the season for my birthday (and it rules!)

As a child, I never understood why adults were so secretive and awkward about their ages. I was told I'd get it when I was older. But I don't! I'm just as excited to turn 25 today as I was to turn 10, 13, 16, 21, and everything in between. (And not just because I get to rent a car sans fees.)

Boyfriend says that I'm still not old enough to understand adults. He says when I turn 29 I will realize that getting older isn't that great. That will be the end all, be all. (Note: he recently turned 29.)

Whatever the reason, I still think of my birthday as a new beginning -- a fresh start -- and I like to spend the day wearing a fabulous dress, laughing with friends, and planning for a fantastic year ahead. (Slightly Pollyannic, I know, but it's my birthday so deal.)

Kind of like this:.

I still get this excited for cake.
So, 24, thanks for the memories, but here's to you, 25. You're going to be the Best. Year. EVER.

( ... until 26.)
