It's beginning to look a lot like ...

It was unseasonably warm this past Saturday but that didn't stop us from dusting off a few holiday decorations and putting up the Christmas tree. It was so nice to do before Jack's mom returned to Chicago, and although we're not quite done -- our tree topper didn't fit so we're searching for a new one -- our place already feels so festive. (Fingers crossed the animals don't ruin it ...)
{Before and after.}
{Naturally I wore a sequined hat for the occasion.}

{Some of our favorite ornaments.}
Lou immediately staked out his spot under the tree.

  1. Aw super cute :) We're putting up our tree this week, and I'm praying that Toby doesn't try to eat it...

  2. Does Lou climb your tree? We had one the first year we had Josie, and she climbed it nonstop, so we haven't had one since because the cats get left alone so often!

  4. @Steph | glitter and goat cheese He's not agile enough -- i.e., he's too fat -- he just sleeps underneath it!

  5. @Alexandria LG peed on the tree last night -- it was so weird. He never ever EVER does anything like that. He's the good dog. Hopefully it was just a lapse in judgement! He seemed very distraught afterwards so I *think* he was just confused. ANIMALS!

  6. Your tree looks beautiful! I LOVE decorating for the holidays. Did you go to Northeastern? I'm in my fourth year there now!

  7. @Bianca I think Toby was just trying to do that on the tree skirt!! He was looking at it very strangely and pacing around on it. Either that or he's looking to turn it into his new bed...

  8. We haven't put up our tree this year but we have a kitten. A KITTEN. Who already lives life pretty much constantly in trouble. Our two other cats are all, "Oh, a tree, again, whatevs.", but Winston is going to freak! Seeing your all black kitty back there (Winston is all black too) just gave me visions of the tree carnage that is surely to come at our place.

  9. @Kristen ahahhaha my cat is too chunky to climb the tree, though I'm sure he's thought about it ... however, he's obsessed with moving the tree skirt into the middle of the living room. so that's nice.
