How to make a rectangular photo collage
What you need:
- Frames of assorted sizes (I bought two packs of these frames from WalMart. Total? $30.)
- Pictures for the frames
- Measuring tape
- Chalk
- Hammer and nails, or these 3M sticky things
Optional step:
Ask your cat for advice
Step 2: Measure the size of the exterior.
Step 3: Draw a rectangle (in chalk) that's the size of your photo collage. This involved math for us since we wanted it to be centered above our couch.
Step 4: Start in one corner and work your way around, double checking your design. (This is another math problem -- if you're hammering, you need to measure the location of the frame hook.)
Step 4: Fill in the center.
Step 5: Add your photos! You can definitely do this at the start of the project but I wanted to get my design down before I picked the pics.
Note: These pictures were all taken on different days. Little Greg really does spend all his time laying on the couch -- tanning.
This DIY turned out great! Can't wait to see it live!
ReplyDeleteYour collage looks so awesome! I feel you on the math issue -- hence why my DIY wall art is still sitting on my floor, almost two months after I finished it.
