Happy Easter/Passover/Weekend! I'm spending mine perfecting Eggs Benedict, inventing this month's spring-themed cupcake (for Tuesday!), and getting re-addicted to One Tree Hill. It's going to be fabulous.

Weekend recap

Got my hairz cut and shopped with Alex in the 'burbs.

Weekend snapshot: Polaroid edition

Baking. Racing. Puppy Bowl. Alex -- an all around great weekend!

Oh and you see those darling cupcakes on the bottom right? Those are this month's cupcakes, and they're to die for. Recipe to come tomorrow.

(In case you couldn't tell, I just discovered this desktop widget, which lets me shake it like a Polaroid picture all day, every day. It's my newest obsession, though I'm sure many of you are cooler than me and discovered this tool years ago. But whateves. Better late than never!)

Husky + hat = HUSKY HAT

As some of you may know, I'm a Northeastern graduate, and as a result, I get to wear this ridiculously awesome hat tomorrow to an NU hockey game in Fenway Park against Boston College. While the hat isn't "official" NU merchandise -- it's from the Macy's children's department. I have a freakishly small head and so a child's hat fits me just fine -- it's still perfect for showing off my Husky pride.

To make things even better, one of my most fantastic friends -- THE Susan Torres -- is coming to town from NYC for the event. Susan rules as much as this hat does.

Dance like no one's watching

Last week, a chaotic work schedule, a nagging sore throat, and epic battles with both Comcast AND Sallie Mae (I HATE THEM SO MUCH) made me curl up in a ball every night and wish for January. I didn't want to do anything. And it didn't really help when the button of my jeans busted open on my way to work Thursday. 

I had planned on wallowing in my misery (aka eating my feelings) all weekend long but then I realized I was acting like an old person and forced myself to get dolled up and go out Saturday night. I let my hair down (literally and figuratively), drank one too many vodka tonics, and danced like a maniac -- on a piano bar stage and by myself in a bar corner.

It was probably embarrassing for others but I had the greatest time ever. And when I woke up Sunday morning -- nauseous and with achy quads -- I was happier than I had been all week.

Sometimes you just need to shake things up a bit to feel like yourself again -- and dance like no one's watching.
