Jack and I worked SO hard on this DIY and I'm extremely pleased with how it turned
out! It was more challenging
than we anticipated -- it involved measuring and math and us journalism majors aren't all that great at math. But the end result is fantastic and definitely worth all the adding we had to do. And the best part is I can change the photos up every season!

Me, too!
Jack and I spent the weekend preparing the house for Thanksgiving -- and it's still not quite done. We made a lot of progress, though -- it's totally clean and organized, we finally have a functioning bathroom door knob (don't ask) and T-day food shopping is complete. We spent all last night doing a photo collage in our living room -- we have the frames up and tonight I'm going to add the pics. It looks phenomenal and I can't wait to finish it (and share)!
In addition to the wall in the living room, my office/guest bedrooms also needs some sort of decor. I've been scouring the internet and I think this has to be one of my favorite finds based on its simplicity and ... awesomeness.
Those little squares?? They're paint swatches!! How cool is that?!
I'm hoping I can maybe get it done pre-Thanksgiving but I already have a lot on my plate (pun intended) and work promises to be just as busy this week as last so it may have to wait.
So much to do! So little time! Anyone else feel like these past few weeks have just flown by?!
(Note: I apologize for the lack of pictures. My camera didn't capture anything this weekend -- I think the point and shoot is on its last leg, which is a blessing in disguise since I've been craving a Nikon D3100. It's also a blessing because I wore yoga pants 24/7.)

DIY glitter heels
As I mentioned last week, I'm totally obsessed with pimped out statement heels. I'm also totally obsessed with glitter. So naturally I decided to combine the two and sparkle-lize the above lame boot heels.
And BAM:

Monday mashup: incomplete
This past weekend was hot and humid, which made for an extremely uncomfortable 18 miler Saturday morning that completely knocked me out and messed up my schedule. I spent the rest of the day rehydrating, eating carbs, and watching cheesy awesome movies instead of doing anything semi-productive.
Determined to get something accomplished, I woke up early Sunday and baked two different types of muffins (recipes tomorrow) before heading to the suburbs for craft supplies and cheap dishware. I was hoping to finish up the dining room chairs I started last week -- but the store was out of Lagoon spray paint ... yet again. So instead I began a project from my fall to-do list -- glitter and gold skulls a la Glitter and Goat Cheese -- but I completely misjudged the drying time and was only able to paint the top halves of the heads and veggies.
Sigh.
Anyone else feel like the weekend was just too short?!

Monday mashup: shoes, cats, and donuts
I had a lot of plans going into the weekend and woke up early Saturday and Sunday to get as much done as possible. While I didn't accomplish everything I wanted (apple picking!), I am pretty content with the things I did do -- like paint and reupholster half of my dining room chairs (with the cat's help) and make apple cider donuts from scratch (more on that tomorrow). I also had some major shopping success and scored a pair of black patent peep toe heels {Enzo Angiolini} for 85 percent off (!). Not too shabby for 48 hours.
