Pink is for girls

Alexander McQueen suede ankle boot (NOT for running)

I've been wearing a lot of athletic gear lately (pre- and post- marathon water weight will do that do you) so while I work on my marathon mashup post and catch up on insane amounts of "real" work, I'm going to leave you with these gloriously sexy pink booties. Completely unaffordable but if these babies don't inspire me to stop wearing yoga pants 24/7, I don't know what will.

Lustin' for statement heels

Pumps with pimped-out heels have been catching my eye lately. It's just such an unexpected dose of pizazz and fabulousness. I'm completely obsessed and want to bejewel and bedazzle all my super-boring-by-comparison shoes. (That's my way of preparing you for a potentially disastrous DIY project in the near future. GET PUMPED! No pun intended.)

  1. Steve Madden PARTYY pumps ($129.25) Pure bombshell. Remind me of Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
  2. Brian Atwood Harrison leopard-print pumps ($1,375) Yes, the price tag is insane, however, I had to include these lovelies because ... well, c'mon! Chains and animal print!
  3. Nine West Nathania peep toe pump ($89) Blinded by glitter.
  4. Kelsi Dagger Teya pump ($129.50) Love the simplicity and olive color.
  5. Steve Madden Brilance pump ($99.95) Over-the-top decadence.
  6. Aldo Capecoral heels ($80) Nice twist on a classic black pump.
  7. SE Boutique Lakin pump ($89.95) Bejeweled to the max.
  8. J. Crew Mona flannel pumps ($248) Completely work appropriate yet still fantastic.
  9. ModCloth Glitter Bug heel ($128.99) You can't really tell from this angle but these (lucite!) heels are engraved with leaves. It's pretty random - and awesome.

Monday mashup: shoes, cats, and donuts

I had a lot of plans going into the weekend and woke up early Saturday and Sunday to get as much done as possible. While I didn't accomplish everything I wanted (apple picking!), I am pretty content with the things I did do -- like paint and reupholster half of my dining room chairs (with the cat's help) and make apple cider donuts from scratch (more on that tomorrow). I also had some major shopping success and scored a pair of black patent peep toe heels {Enzo Angiolini} for 85 percent off (!). Not too shabby for 48 hours.

Lustin' for booties

High-heeled booties are everywhere this fall -- and hopefully one (or two) (or three) of these ten will be in my closet very soon.
  1. Betsey Johnson Ignite Bootie ($117.61): Animal print and a sparkly bow -- need I say more?
  2. Nine West Gracious ($109): A red hot bootie with a great shape.
  3. Candela N.Y.C. Women's Monk Heel High Heel Bootie ($265): Whimsical and different. (Awkward but true -- they kind of remind me of this Disney character.)
  4. Rachel Zoe 'Bella' Bootie ($425) Cute as a button.
  5. Poetic Licence Women's Encoure Bootie ($83.89) Faux-snakeskin for the win.
  6. Qupid Neutral ($44.95): All wrapped up.
  7. Type Z Winnifred Fuchsia ($68): Hello, Barbie!
  8. Pour La Victoire Forsa ($117): Simple yet sassy.
  9. Sam Edelman Women's Renzo Ankle Bootie ($250): Classy gal in the front -- badass woman in the back.
  10. Forever 21 Leopard Print Heels ($26.80) Great print -- phenomenal price.
