You need this dog

FRECKLES.
As I've mentioned, I help put together the newsletters for this amazing organization, and this month, we did a spotlight on Freckles -- an adorable pooch who loves The Office. You must check him out -- he's seriously too cute for words and he has the BEST personality. I'm in love with him and I want him to find his forever home STAT, which is why he's the star of my post today. Read more about Freckles here and here.

Dogs! For adoption!

I recently started helping put together the bi-monthly newsletters for Companion Pet Rescue and Transport -- an incredible volunteer organization that saves more than 2,500 pups each year. These people are seriously the BESTand have some of the cutest, sweetest, most adorable dogs around (Little Greg and Peggy Sue were two of their rescues -- read that story here.) They have dogs of every shape, size, age, etc. and are fantastic at pairing you up with the perfect dog! If you're considering adopting a pup -- or if you just like looking at pictures of super cute dogs and reading some incredible survivor and rescue stories -- sign up for their newsletters and like them on Facebook. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. It's total cuteness overload.

All the dogs pictured above are up for adoption! Click a name to learn (and see) more!

See all CPR dogs on Petfinder.com.

And a quick PSA:  Please don't ever buy a dog. Even from a reputable breeder. There are thousands upon thousands of dogs out there -- including purebred puppies -- that need a home and are put to sleep because there isn't enough room in shelters. Don't contribute to the problem -- rescue a dog. You will be their hero for life. Promise.

Basking in sunshine

Peggy Sue and Little Greg couldn't get enough of this weather! Hope it continues into the weekend. Happy Friday!

Oh and P.S. In case you're wondering, Lou enjoys looking at the outdoors from a safe distance.
(He overheats pretty quickly. Being fat and all.)

Resting Peggy Sue

My sweet, darling pup, Peggy Sue, is currently recovering from her first round of heartworm treatments. That means bed rest for the next 30 days, followed by another round of treatments and then another 30 days without exercise.

It's pretty heartbreaking since Peggy is the happiest, most lovable, and most active dog in the world. She loves to run, play fetch, and wrestle with Little Greg, Lou, and all her toys.

But for the next 60 days all we can do is cuddle. I just have to keep reminding myself this this is temporary and in the grand scheme of her life (fingers crossed), it's only a few weeks. She'll be better just in time for the warm weather. And marathon training!

Cute pictures of my dogs and cat

*All courtesy of this amazing twenty-something. If you guys want pet photography done right, call this gal. She does not mess around. (Peggy hates having her picture taken but Alex won her over.)

Top to bottom: Little Greg | Peggy Sue | Little Greg {he loves the camera} | Lou (he loves his boxes. Oh and his name used to be Paul.}

Just because it's Friday.

And because New York Fashion Week is blowing up my Twitter feed and I'm dying of jealousy. So instead of focusing on what I don't have -- a press pass, a super cool invitation, etc. -- I'm just going to stare at my adorable animals.

The end.

Labor Day mashup

As may be evident by the photos above, my Labor Day weekend was filled with random -- yet completely awesome -- things. I survived my first ever 20 mile run (I'm not crazy -- I'm training for the NYC marathon), got all dolled up for drinks with fantastic friends, relaxed on the beach, and tackled some much needed cleaning. Combine that with a lot of silliness and a little baking and you get a great way to end the summer -- and to kick off the fall.

Porch perching

My boyfriend and I moved into our apartment in early July and in the past two months we've taken full advantage of one its greatest features: the front porch. It's a fantastic place to drink wine, hang out with the dogs, and watch the sunset. And while neither one of us knows a thing about gardening, thanks to an extremely awesome and helpful man at Home Depot we've even managed to grow some plants on our treetop paradise!
